Painted on a repurposed MDF poster board; sturdy and practically indestructible like it’s subject.
That is the feeling I get when walking about small fishing communities. They seem so peaceful, quaint and calm when I’m there, as a visitor. I can also see by all that’s around; weathered and battle ready for the harsh winds and storms that grace the shore, taking boats, and equipment with it.  Nothing about here feels easy, but it feels strong and resilient, like they can weather just about anything that comes their way.  Abound with the souls of those lost at sea, their widows and children, left behind looking to the horizon for the ones they wish back home. All in one breath; injustice and acceptance, like salt and honey on the tongue.
